The eight Trustees are:

 

Ivanka Lennon (Chair)

Ivanka, who is a member of Christ Church, was previously a director of a national charity and chair of governors of a local infants school. She has been actively involved with many local community groups and charities.

 

Jim Beacom

Jim Beacom

Jim, who worships at Purley Baptist Church, is a Chaplain and Eucharistic Minister at Croydon University Hospital, where he is also a Trustee of the Friends of the Hospital. He was involved with Nightwatch for 14 years and with Croydon Women's Aid for 12 years, and he and his wife Cath are former Trustees of CWA. Jim and Cath have also been involved with Crisis at Christmas for 10 years.

 

Derek Harris

Derek Harris

A retired chartered accountant who worked for several large companies, Derek is Treasurer of Purley Baptist Church and Financial Director of the church’s 58:12 charity set up to redevelop the ‘island site’ in Purley. He is also the Food Hub’s Treasurer.

 

Helen Harris

Helen Harris

Helen is a member of Purley Baptist Church and chair of the Lay Committee of Purley & Kenley Churches Together. She also chairs the Management Committee responsible for the day-to-day running of the Food Hub.

 

Gillian Harrison

Gillian Harrison

Gillian is a member and elder at Purley United Reformed Church. She has been assistant Treasurer for many years and among other things helps to organise Sunday evening gatherings at the church. Before retirement she worked in the Civil Service for 39 years (Home Office and Ministry of Justice), latterly as a senior policy adviser.

 

Judith Johnson

Judith Johnson

Judith was formerly Church Secretary of Purley United Reformed Church and a Trustee of the church. She helped draw up the arrangements for storing and distributing our food at the URC. Judith is involved in many aspects of the church’s life, including dealing with gift aid. Before retirement she spent some years as an administrator at the central office of the United Reformed Church and continues to be involved with wider URC matters.

 

Doreen McCollin

Doreen is a retired adult and mental health nurse with considerable management experience in the independent sector and the NHS. She is a Church Warden at St Swithun's Church. She is also an avid sports fan, especially of Aston Villa FC, and also watching and taking part in cricket; she is a qualified cricket umpire.

 

John Stradling

John Stradling

John is a member of St John the Baptist Church, Purley, and is self employed as a business and management training consultant. He has been involved in various aspects of church life for many years, particularly in social issues through his Church Justice and Peace activities.
