The eight Trustees are:

 

Trevor Jones (Vice Chair)

Trevor is a member of Christ Church Purley where he has served as a Church Warden and Church Council member. Until his retirement in 2018, he worked as a Health & Safety Inspector, his areas of regulation including food and more recently chemical industry sites in southern England. He was previously a Trustee of Abbeyfield Purley Society.

 

 Derek Harris

Derek Harris

A retired chartered accountant who worked for several large companies, Derek is Treasurer of Purley Baptist Church and Financial Director of the church’s 58:12 charity set up to redevelop the ‘island site’ in Purley. He is also the Food Hub’s Treasurer.

 

Helen Harris

Helen Harris

Helen is a member of Purley Baptist Church and chair of the Lay Committee of Purley & Kenley Churches Together. She also chairs the Management Committee responsible for the day-to-day running of the Food Hub.

 

Gillian Harrison

Gillian Harrison

Gillian is a member and elder at Purley United Reformed Church. She has been assistant Treasurer for many years and among other things helps to organise Sunday evening gatherings at the church. Before retirement she worked in the Civil Service for 39 years (Home Office and Ministry of Justice), latterly as a senior policy adviser.

 

Judith Johnson

Judith Johnson

Judith was formerly Church Secretary of Purley United Reformed Church and a Trustee of the church. She helped draw up the arrangements for storing and distributing our food at the URC. Judith is involved in many aspects of the church’s life, including dealing with gift aid. Before retirement she spent some years as an administrator at the central office of the United Reformed Church and continues to be involved with wider URC matters.

 

Ivanka Lennon

Ivanka, who is a member of Christ Church Purley, was previously a director of a national charity and chair of governors of a local infants school. She has been actively involved with many local community groups and charities, including Croydon Refugee Day Centre.

 

Doreen McCollin

Doreen is a retired adult and mental health nurse with considerable management experience in the independent sector and the NHS. She is a Church Warden at St Swithun's Church Purley. She is also an avid sports fan, especially of Aston Villa FC, and also watching and taking part in cricket; she is a qualified cricket umpire.

 

Nick Pannell

A member of St Mary's Church Addington, Nick and his wife Lesley also help at The Vine food bank in New Addington and run the Floating Shelter each year at St Mary's. Nick was a maths teacher for 34 years and runs a shore-based sailing school in Croydon; he is a Royal Yachting Association senior sailing instructor.
