Currently there are six Trustees:


Trevor Jones (Chair)

Trevor is a member of Christ Church Purley where he has served as a Church Warden and Church Council member. Until his retirement in 2018, he worked as a Health & Safety Inspector, his areas of regulation including food and more recently chemical industry sites in southern England. He was previously a Trustee of Abbeyfield Purley Society.


Lizzie Englefield

A member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church Purley, Lizzie is Deputy Head at St Mary's Catholic High School in Croydon. The school serves local families and those new to the country and Lizzie works closely with outside partners in Croydon to meet the pupils' and families' needs. She says: 'The Food Hub is central to this and I wish to serve the wider community as a Trustee sharing my local experience and understanding.'


Derek Harris

Derek Harris

A retired chartered accountant who worked for several large companies, Derek is the Food Hub’s Treasurer and a member of the Management Committee responsible for the day-to-day running of the Food Hub. He is keen to see the Food Hub grow and develop and to use the money donated by supporters to the best advantage of the clients. He is a member of Purley Baptist Church.


Judith Johnson

Judith Johnson

Judith was formerly Church Secretary of Purley United Reformed Church and a Trustee of the church. She helped draw up the arrangements for storing and distributing our food at the URC. Judith is involved in many aspects of the church’s life, including dealing with gift aid. Before retirement she spent some years as an administrator at the central office of the United Reformed Church and until recently continued to be involved with wider URC matters.


Ivanka Lennon

Ivanka, who is a member of Christ Church Purley, is also a volunteer with Croydon Churches Floating Shelter and Croydon Refugee Day Centre, which helps her to better understand the problems and needs of some of the Food Hub's clients. She says: 'It is a continuing privilege to serve those in need, offering food and prayer and, where relevant, signposting to other organisations that may also be able to help our clients.'


Nick Pannell

A member of St Mary's Church Addington, Nick and his wife Lesley also help at The Vine food bank in New Addington and run the Croydon Churches Floating Shelter each year at St Mary's. Nick was a maths teacher for 34 years and runs a shore-based sailing school in Croydon; he is a Royal Yachting Association senior sailing instructor.
